How Microsoft is buying up a new class of computer that’s better than PCs
Microsoft is making its latest foray into the world of digital devices with a new computer that has an OLED display and is said to be faster and more efficient than PCs.
The Windows 10 Pro computer, launched in late March, was designed to run Windows 10 and includes a new Intel processor, a 1TB hard drive, and a 3,200mAh battery.
It’s the first Microsoft-branded computer to feature the company’s new DisplayPort, a 3G mobile technology that delivers up to 60Gbps data speeds.
“Windows 10 Pro has a lot of innovation and features that we’re really excited about,” said Jim Zemlin, head of product management at Microsoft.
“The DisplayPort and the Intel processor are the next-generation of display technology and the new laptop also has a 3D display, so that makes it a lot more immersive.”
Microsoft says it has shipped more than 20 million Windows 10 PCs globally.
