‘Titanfall’ launches as first-ever open beta for the Xbox and PlayStation 4
The next major release of Microsoft’s next-generation console, the Xbox One, is going to be an open beta, with players able to download the game and play online as long as they want, according to the company.
While Microsoft isn’t saying anything about what the beta will entail, the open beta will offer up a wide range of games, from classic Xbox games like Madden and NFL, to indie gems like the indie game, ‘Titansfall,’ which will allow players to customize their ship, customize their weapons, and play with other players.
The game will launch on Xbox One on August 1.
Players will have to be signed in as a beta tester to download and play the game, and will need to sign into a Microsoft account if they want to play online.
Players can sign up for a beta through the Xbox Insider program, or you can create an account on the game’s Xbox Marketplace.
Microsoft isn’s announcement doesn’t mention whether or not you’ll be able to play the beta online, but the company has confirmed that you can.
For the uninitiated, the first major release for the next-gen console is coming later this month.
