Fox Sports NFL Analyst Joe Tessitore says Browns will not make playoff push
Fox Sports analyst Joe Tessittore said Sunday that the Cleveland Browns will continue their season with their season ending Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts at home.
The Browns finished the season 3-9 and have been without star quarterback Robert Griffin III, who is battling back issues.
The team’s three-game losing streak came to an end Sunday with a 23-10 win over the Indianapolis Bengals.
Griffin III had not practiced all week because of back spasms, and he didn’t participate in the team’s practice time on Monday.
The loss snapped a streak of 15 consecutive victories by Cleveland over the Bengals, and Cleveland had lost six of the past seven meetings between the two teams.
Colts coach Chuck Pagano called the Browns’ loss “a disappointing, disappointing game.”
Pagano said the Browns will play at home against the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.
The Falcons, who were in a tie with the Browns for second place in the NFC South, host the New Orleans Saints.
The game is set for 7 p.m.
EDT (1600 GMT).
“We were fortunate to have a good win, but this loss is going to hurt us a lot and I think the game’s going to be a lot of fun to watch,” Pagano told Fox Sports’ The NFL Sunday.
“We’re going to have to be much more focused on how we can get better in the coming weeks.”
The Browns have won two in a row and five of their past six.
