How to take your dream job and run it successfully
By now you’ve probably seen the viral video of a young man who was asked to take his final exam in the form of a Google Docs spreadsheet.
The young man, who goes by the name “Chad” in the video, showed off his work, using his mobile phone to record himself taking the test.
He then posted it on Twitter, where it received more than 60,000 retweets and 2.5 million views in a matter of hours.
While the result was good for the aspiring computer scientist, the whole thing was a bit of a stunt, because Chad wasn’t able to actually take the exam in person.
His answer was, of course, not the answer.
“We had a lot of students who were really excited and ready to take the test but weren’t able because they couldn’t take the Google Doc,” he told Mashable.
“I think that’s the biggest issue I have.
I’m not sure if it’s a lack of interest in the test itself, but people are very impatient about taking the exam.”
Chad told Mashables he was inspired to take part in this experiment after he saw a story on Mashable where a man had to take a test on his smartphone after his employer had switched to an online version of the test in order to get a full time job.
A Google doc spreadsheet Chad created.
(Google) “This really resonated with me,” he said.
“So I created a Google spreadsheet and started sharing it online with my friends and family.”
Chads Google doc test did not come with an exam, and he had to submit it on his own, but it was still enough to get him a spot in Google’s new “Coding School” program, which allows aspiring programmers to get an internship at the company.

(Chad) “I was really excited to get into this program,” Chad said.
Chads final exam was on February 12, 2019, and the results were not great.
After all, Chad had to use his mobile to record his answers to the questions on his spreadsheet.
He was also asked to add a section about his hobbies and interests, and his answers included: “I like to make Lego, but I’m always on the hunt for a new hobby to make,” “I love reading and learning new languages,” and “I have a strong interest in technology.”
He was then given a certificate that he could send to his boss.

(YouTube) He did not have a computer in his room at the time, and when he woke up the next morning he noticed he was stuck with an unknown number of questions that he was not able to answer.
He also found himself unable to find his answer, as the Google search engine would not allow him to enter the correct number.
At one point, he even had to retype a few of the questions in order for it to show up.
The answer Chad was finally able to get on his test came after he spent an entire day typing in the correct answer.
(Screenshot)”I spent the entire day working out how I was going to type the answer,” he explained.
“That was kind of like a challenge to me.
I spent all day trying to type it in and get it right.”
He told Mashups he was happy with his results, and was confident that he will be able to secure a spot at Google.
“I’m really excited about the experience I had, because I think it shows the potential for people who have never taken a test before,” he added.
“And I think that it’s great that they can use that experience to find the job they’re looking for.”
