When Amazon’s Alexa and other Alexa devices become part of the home
TechCrunch – New York, NY – Aug. 12, 2019Amazon has announced a new partnership with Microsoft to bring Alexa to its customers.
The new partnership aims to help users with various computing needs through its Alexa assistant.
Amazon is also making its voice assistant available to its hardware, which is more capable than ever before.
“We’ve always said that Alexa is an incredible platform, and this partnership will help us deliver an even better experience for our customers,” said Michael Gartner, CEO of Amazon.
“We look forward to building more experiences for Alexa and helping them discover and use more of their devices in the future.”
Amazon will also be providing Alexa with additional resources, including the ability to control the thermostat on its Echo smart speaker, and Alexa will be able to use the cloud to control its smart home automation system, including lights, fans and thermostats.
“Our vision for Alexa is to make it easier for people to access and discover their devices, and to bring our customers the same experiences we provide our customers with,” said Alexa VP of Products Michael Gassner in a statement.
